Summer League #5: Tramore Valley Park Tuesday June 28th Event Info

The fifth event in the CorkO Summer League will take place on Tuesday June 28th at Tramore Valley Park. The Park is located at the old Kinsale Road landfill site and is enclosed by the Tramore river, the Trabeg river and the South Ring road. The rough open land is a meadow at present, mown paths are not marked on the maps. Grass might be slippery if the weather is wet. ****************** COURSE INFO Long Course 4.3km offering lots of route choice and navigation Short Course 2.1km and can be navigated on paths although there are shorter routes (i.e. buggy friendly) All controls from the park will be removed at 7:30pm. ************* ENTRY Enter on line at: https://www.orienteering.ie/fixtures/tramore-valley-park-24/ Entry fees and other information are available on the IOA fixture site. Online entries close at 9pm on Monday 27th .  Registration will be in the western car park beside the boundary fence to the city link road. ***************** START TIME Starts will be from 5:30pm to 6:45pm.  **************** DIRECTIONS Tramore Valley Park is located at the old Kinsale Road Landfill Site on the eastern side of the South Link Road (N27).  If you are coming out of Cork City on the South Link Road, just turn left into the park.  If you are coming from the direction of the Kinsale Road Roundabout then please note there is NO RIGHT TURN OFF THE SOUTH LINK DUAL CARRIAGEWAY into the park. Instead at the Kinsale Road Roundabout take the exit signed ‘Turners Cross’ which will take you down passed Harvey Normans, then turn right at the next junction and drive passed the entrance to the Black Ash Park and Ride. At the junction with the South Link drive straight through the traffic lights (once they turn green!) and into the park. Note: If you miss the Turner Cross exit and find yourself on the N27 heading into the city centre Do not under any circumstances attempt to turn right at the traffic lights. Proceed through the lights towards the city and take the next exit marked Turners Cross Douglas. Turn right at the top of the slip road pass over the N27 and turn right immediately to get back on the N27 you will now be able to turn left into the Park.
