2023 Autumn League #1 Tramore Valley Park

The first event in the CorkO Autumn League will take place on Tuesday August 29th at Tramore Valley Park

-------------------------

EVENT FORMAT

The format will be a 2-person fun relay race! All first let runners will commence their courses at the same time. When they complete their course and return to the finish they will tag their team mate who can then set off on their course.

Each team will complete a short 1.5km leg and a long leg 4km.

------------

TEAMS

In the interest of fun and fairness we would ask that people who competed on the Long Course throughout the Summer League partner up with those who competed on the Short course. Or failing that we would ask all those who finished in the top half of the Long course Summer league results to find a team mate from the lower half of the Long course Summer league results. We don't want a "packed duo" running away with the relay!!

We really would encourage everyone to come along and enjoy this fun event. If you don't have a team mate before the event don't worry the organisers will assist with team selection/pairings on the night to ensure everyone gets a run/walk/jog or stroll.

There will also be a long and short course for people who want to go separately from the relay.

Controls will be collected at 7.30pm

START TIMES

The relay race will start at 6pm with short course runners off first.

GETTING THERE

Tramore Valley Park is located at the old Kinsale Road Landfill Site on the eastern side of the South Link Road (N27). NB. There is NO RIGHT TURN OFF THE SOUTH LINK DUAL CARRIAGEWAY going from the Kinsale Road roundabout to the city centre. On the assumption that the majority of people will be using the Cork South Ring (N40) by-pass road the Park is best accessed as follows:

Exit the N40 at Junction 6 (Kinsale road roundabout) - also labelled exit for Airport.

FROM THE WEST keep moving into the series of left hand lanes as it is safe to do so- you need to be in the left hand lane at the roundabout. At the roundabout take the first exit signed ‘Turners Cross’. Continue on this road for 350m to the next set of traffic lights moving into the right hand lane. Turn right here on to Mick Barry Road moving into the left hand lane. Stay in this lane (which becomes the middle of three lanes near the next junction after passing the Black Ash Park and Ride) until the next set of lights. The entrance to the Park is straight across the dual carriageway (N27) signposted Kinsale Road Landfill Site.

FROM THE EAST (Jack Lynch Tunnel) after exiting the N40 at junction 6 go into the left hand lane this becomes three lanes as you approach the roundabout, stay in the middle lane indicating right. Turn right under the flyover staying in the (now) left hand lane. Take the next exit off the roundabout signed ‘Turners Cross’.

If you miss the exit and find yourself on the N27 heading into the city centre Do not under any circumstances attempt to turn right at the traffic lights. Proceed through the lights towards the city and take the next exit marked Turners Cross Douglas. Turn right at the top of the slip road pass over the N27 and turn right immediately to get back on the N27 you will now be able to turn left into the Park.

Travelling FROM THE CITY CENTRE follow the Quays Eastbound past the main Bus Station. At the T junction turn right and follow the signs for the N27. The Kinsale Road Landfill Site is easily accessed off the South Link Road (N27), turning left at the lights opposite the Black Ash Park and Ride.
