Autumn League Standings

As we've reached the mid way point in the Autumn league it probably a good time to reflect on the current status of the overall league results and see who is in contention for the Autumn League bragging rights.

On the Long course Dermot O'Sullivan is top of the leaderboard having finished first in the two events to date and thus has a total of 2 points. Can someone deny him the three-in-a-row and the Autumn league title in Currabinny? Can the Summer League champion Rob McEvoy challenge Dermot? Rob is presently lying in second place with a total of 6 points. Or could Brian Corbett deny Dermot the Autumn League crown, Brian presently sits in third with 8 points. Other contenders who could potentially finish in the top three in the Autumn League include Danny O'Hare and Donal Murphy.

In the Ladies section Niamh Corbett leads the field. She also has two wins to date and a total of just 2 points. One more win in Currabinny would secure her the Autumn league title. Her nearest rival is the Ladies Summer League champion Ailbhe Creedon who has a total of 5 points. Just one point behind Ailbhe is Eibhlin Cleary in third with at total of 6 points. Over the two remaining events can the likes of Trishia O'Mahony (7points) dislodge any of our current top three?

On the Short course Sienna Bosonnet is leading the league with a total of 6 points. Liz Deane resides in second with 15 points and Aoife O'Sullivan is presently in third with 20 points

On the Trails course Fiona Craven is the only person to have completed the two trails courses so far and has a current total of 3 points. She is setting the standard for the rest of the field to chase.

The detailed results tables are available here so do check them out and find your nearest rivals and try to overtake them at the two remaining events. Furthermore, why not participate in the "Off-the-paths" training day on Saturday the 15th in Farran Forest Park. Not only will training help improve your orienteering skills but the local knowledge might also come in useful for the event the following Tuesday. All in all this might be enough to help you edge passed your opponents in the league tables.

Also remember everyone who attends at least three events in the Autumn league will be entered in a draw for some spot prizes!
