Cork League #4: Tir na Spideoige SUNDAY March 10th Event Info

The final event of this years Cork League takes place next Sunday March 10th in Tír na Spuideoga, Incheegela.Tír na Spuideoga is classic west Cork open mountain terrain with an excellent map created for the Shamrock in 1996.It's has lots of repeated ridges and well mapped small hills making it Connoisseurs orienteering terrain. The map is by Marcus Pinker with minor updates.The courses will be middle distance in style so lots of controls and lots of direction changes with an expected winning time of 50 mins. So not too physical but a great mental work out.Courses are as follows:-Blue 6km 100m climbGreen 4.1km 60m climbOrange 2.6km 20m climbYellow 2.5km 20m climb

Start times will be the usual 11am to 1pm with courses closed at 2pm.

The event will be signposted from Incheegela village. The right turn is opposite Creedons Hotel.

Parking is very limited and the roads have degraded so please can pool as much as possible. It would be great if people could park in Incheegela village and share a car from there.

For anyone who would like to do some more orienteering, there will be a corridor map available for compass training after you finish your course.
