Hit the trails this August

Seeing control flags everywhere you go? It could be a sign that you are going through Orienteering Withdrawal (OW). Don't worry, we'll be back in navigation mode soon when our Autumn League begins on August 27th at Currabinny Woods and runs on Tuesdays until September 17th. The Autumn League will have the usual courses to suit beginners and experienced orienteers, and will also teach our improving Summer League orienteers the skills needed to navigate confidently off the paths.

In the meantime don't forget that we have a *charity trail run/walk* coming up at Corrin Wood (Fermoy) on Tuesday 13th August. This is being organised by our club coach Danny O'Hare who is taking part in the 600km Tour de Munster charity cycle the previous weekend. It's EUR 7 to enter and all proceeds from the event will be donated to Down Syndrome Ireland. Registration will be from 6.30pm in the car park and there will be a mass start at 7.15pm. The marked route is 5.6km and all on forest roads and trails; suitable for all fitness levels. Refreshments and spot prizes afterwards. If you are still craving the outdoors then you could do worse than check out the IMRA Trail League that is taking place throughout August, put together by CorkO fitness instructor Robbie Williams. This comprises 3 events at Corrin, Knockaroura and Curragh Woods on Wednesday evenings and are also suitable for all fitness levels. See you in the woods folks!
