Post date: Nov 27, 2012 7:15:51 PM

Paul O'Sullivan Hourihan has provided the following information about the final Munster League event of the year.

The final event in this years Munster league will be held on Kilworth ranges on Sunday December 2nd. As well as being the final opportunity to gain points for this years competition it will also be a chance for a final big "blow-out" before the

Christmas excesses! So if you want to face the Christmas pudding, cakes etc with a clear conscience then Kilworth is the place for you!

Registration will be at the building on No 5 range with adjacent car parking.

S.I timing will be used and S.I. cards can be hired on the day.

Courses on offer on the day will be

Brown - 10.3km 305m 23 controls

Blue - 7.6km 205m 18 controls

Green - 6.4km 120m 16 controls

Light green - 4.9km 105m 11 controls

Orange - 3.6km 75m 9 controls

Yellow - 2.7 km 45m 10 controls

In conjunction with the Munster league event it will also be the third event in the RDF 1 Southern Brigade winter league. Large numbers of RDF personnel competed at Knockacullota and Torc and another large turnout is expected at this "HOME" venue

Courses open 10:30 -13:00. Control collection from 14:30.

Some members of the Irish Junior squad will be providing warm refreshments after the event and your support would be much appreciated. The funds generated will go towards helping the good work being done by those involved in developing orienteering in the Junior ranks whose strength can be gauged by the fact that in excess of 30 Juniors attended a training camp in Tramore recently.

Finally a word of caution: the Defence forces use this area on a regular basis. It is a military training area. If in the course of your run you encounter any kind of suspicious object please do not pick it up. Avoid - and bring it's location to the organisers attention as soon as possible.
