The fourth event in the Cork Orienteering Club Summer League will take place on Tuesday May 31st at the Regional Park Ballincollig. Please note this event will start from the MIDDLE CAR PARK rather than the western end.The park extends along the south bank of the river Lee and the terrain is mixed parkland, with fast grass and path sections, some forest run and some undergrowth. The land was originally part of the Ballincollig Gunpowder Mills and the eastern end of the park is where the many ruins of the old Gunpowder Factory are still visible. Interesting route choice is provided by the limited number of crossing points along the canals and millraces which run throughout the park.*****************COURSE INFO:Long 18: controls 4.8km, zero climbShort 10: controls 2.5km, zero climbNotes:- SI boxes may be up to 1 meter away from the kite, as they are secured to trees etc. to prevent theft.- There are no controls inside or upon any ruin.- The canal is to be crossed using foot-bridges only.- Course closes at 8pm, controls will be collected starting from 8pm.****************

Competitors can start any time between 5:30pm and 7pm from the middle car park of the park.
