Summer League #4: Watergrasshill Event Info

The fourth event in the Cork Orienteering Club Summer League takes place in Moanbaun Wood Watergrasshill next Tuesday May 29th. Mouanbaun Wood is about 4km east of Watergrasshill. If coming on the motorway from Cork city, take the Watergrasshill exit (M8 junction 17), cross the bridge over the motorway, turn left and follow the orienteering arrow direction signs.

The long course is approx 5.0km in length, a bit longer than recent events, but relatively flat.

The short course is 3.1km in length and is all on forest tracks & paths. Note: This is a bit longer than at previous events due to having to avoid using areas of the forest where logging is in progress.

It is suitable for buggies, though there may be some path sections with rough gravel surfaces, and as one or two controls are 10m or 20m off the path, a few little helpers to venture in to the wood and get them may be useful.

Official start times are, as usual, from 5:30pm to 7pm but we should be open for business from just after 5pm. Regardless of your start time controls will be systematically collected from 7:45pm leaving the later controls on both courses to the end.
