Urban Series #1: Youghal Town

Youghal Town, Cork Sunday January 7th Event Info

Given the success of our Urban mini-series last winter we plan to kick off the new year with another great Urban series. This series will take participants to some great Urban locations.

The first event in our Urban series will take place in Youghal Town on Sunday January 7th.

Youghal is one of may heritage town's in Ireland's Ancient East where vibrant history and modern life meet. Located on the estuary of the River Blackwater, the town is a former military and economic centre. Located on the edge of a steep riverbank, the town has a long and narrow layout and one of the best examples of a Norman walled port in Ireland today. As a historic walled seaport town it is sure to provide interesting orienteering routes as you journey through time from our Viking founders down through the various eras that formed Youghal. While sprinting around these scenic streets be sure to take some time to appreciate the numerous historic buildings and monuments within the town's walls.
