I hope you are all as excited about the start of the 2016 Summer League as we are. This year's league will kick off next TUESDAY MAY 10TH at FOTA HOUSE AND GARDENS.

Fota's arboretum and gardens are internationally recognised and have the finest collections of rare and tender trees and shrubs grown outdoors in Ireland and Britain and I'm sure their colours will provide a stunning backdrop for Tuesday's orienteering event.

This beautiful parkland terrain provides an ideal location to commence our Summer League. With a good network of paths the area is very buggy friendly. This location always proves popular with families and is a delightful area for beginners and those new to the sport to embark on some orienteering adventures. The Sprint-O nature of the landscape will also provide several challenges for our experienced orienteers and the fast pace will mean that every second really will count.

COURSE DETAILS

Short course: 1.8km 13 controls and is buggy friendly.

Long course:  4.8km 14 controls.

The flat parkland terrain at Fota means the climb is negligible on both courses.
