2024 Autumn League #1

Autumn League #1 Farran Forest Park Tuesday August 27th

The first event in the CorkO Autumn League will take place on Tuesday August 27th at Farran Forest Park.

The park is located on the southern shore of Inniscarra lake and provides panoramic views of the tranquil waters and surrounding countryside. A notable feature is the wildlife enclosure which holds a small herd of Red and Fallow deer which can easily be viewed from the path which skirts the boundary fence.

The adventure playground a short distance from the car park can also provide some post course entertainment for the younger competitors.

EVENT FORMAT

This will be score event.

Competitors will have 40 minutes to punch as many controls as possible. All controls having equal value (1).

However, there will be a 2 point deduction for each minute (or part) over the 40 minutes allowed.

The map has been updated for the event.

START TIMES

Participants can start from 5.15pm to 6.30pm.

There will be a group start at 6.20pm for those who want to par-take.

DIRECTIONS

Farran Forest park is signposted on the main Ballincollig - Macroom road as the national rowing centre.

Normal entry fee to Forest Park is €5 (contactless) but Coillte have promised to arrange for the barrier to be lifted from 5:15pm to 6:15pm.

SUMMER LEAGUE PRIZEGIVING

The 2024 Summer League Prizegiving will take place at 7:10pm at this event.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Mens/Ladies categories on the Long Course and the top three finishers on the Short course. All Short course league finishers will receive medals.

This will also be the first opportunity for all 2024 Summer League finishers to collect their league finisher t-shirt.
