Autumn League #1 Farran Forest Park Tuesday August 26th

The first event in the CorkO Autumn League will take place on Tuesday August 26th at Farran Forest Park.

The park is located on the southern shore of Inniscarra lake and provides panoramic views of the tranquil waters and surrounding countryside. A notable feature is the wildlife enclosure which holds a small herd of Red and Fallow deer which can easily be viewed from the path which skirts the boundary fence.

The adventure playground a short distance from the car park can also provide some post course entertainment for the younger competitors.

EVENT FORMAT

Fun Relay Race

Teams of two with a Long and Short leg.

Short Leg ~2km
Long Leg ~4km

In the interest of fairness it would be preferably if individuals who usually run the Long course would0 partner up with someone who typically runs the Short Course.

Note the Ling course will consist of some shared controls and a butterfly which will enable some gaffling where some runners to different loops in a different order. So don't get carried away following someone else and pay close attention to the control code!

START TIMES

There will be a group start at 6pm for those who want to par-take in the relay race.

Family groups who don't wish to do the relay can do the short course and can start anytime between 17:30 and 18:30.

DIRECTIONS

Farran Forest park is signposted on the main Ballincollig - Macroom road as the national rowing centre.

Normal entry fee to Forest Park is €5 (contactless) but Coillte have promised to arrange for the barrier to be lifted from 5:15pm to 6:15pm.

SUMMER LEAGUE PRIZEGIVING

The 2025 Summer League Prizegiving will take place at 7:10pm at this event.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Mens/Ladies categories on the Long Course and the top three finishers on the Short course. All Short course league finishers will receive medals.

This will also be the first opportunity for all 2025 Summer League finishers to collect their league finisher t-shirt.
