2025 Summer League Results Update
(After 6 events)
Huge thanks to all those who have attended any of our 2025 Summer League events to date. After six events in the 2025 Summer league, it's time to give an updated on the summer league results leaderboard.
So far we have had 125 individuals take on the Long course challenge at our evening events and there has been 69 unique competitors participate on the Short course at the various locations visited to date. Just a reminder that competitors must finish 6 events to complete this year's league and receive their league finisher memento. Based on the latest league tables there are currently 17 individual who have already attended 6 events and earned their 2025 league finisher memento.
Hopefully these dedicated summer league followers will be joined by may more over the coming weeks. With just 3 events remaining another 47 participants have the potential to complete the league if they attend 1 or more of the remaining 3 events.
Now down to the business of league standings. On the Short course there is currently one league finisher - Daithi Russell and he has a commanding lead with a total of 7 pts. Just one above the best score attainable and maybe he will improve on this over the coming events. Things are much closer for in the battle for second place with both Aoibhe Walsh and Laoise O'Mahony currently tied on 35pts after 5 events. While the Collins family are presently battling it out for third place with just 1 point separating Daithi Collins presently on 42 pts from his mother Frieda Collins. A few other competitors such as Ruadh Collins, Grace Walsh and Clare Nuttall can potentially make their way into the podium spots with some good runs over the closing events
On the Long course men's section, we currently have 2 league finishers. Daithi's brother Corrin also sits top of the leaderboard with a total of 27 pts. Second place is held by Ruaidhri O'Brien with 52 pts. However, one high placing of 17th at the James Fort event is bringing Ruaidhri's average up so another good by him over the remaining events could see his points total drop significantly. Fionn O'Callaghan has a current points total of 26 after 5 events and he tops the list of chasers who will be trying to muscle their way onto the podium over the remaining events. Notable other chasers with low points totals include Dan McDonnell, Alec O'Brien, Rob McEvoy and Neil Byrne.
In the Women's section on the Long course Mary O'Brien is the only competitor so far to complete the league and she has pole position with a total of 33 pts. There are 6 ladies that can complete the league if they attend Mallow this evening. The leader of the chasing pack is Una Buckley with a total of 21 pts, followed by Elaine Sheridan with 40 pts. There are several competitors hot on her heels namely Cathy Kennedy 46pts, Niamh Murphy 59 pts and Leah Murphy 64 pts. Also important to note that further download the results table two ladies have impressively low points totals after just 4 events and they can potentially demote a lot of our current league leaders. Fi O'Meara with 7pts and Caroline Murray with 9 pts have showed outstanding form in the events they competed in so far. Both require two more events to complete the league and upset the leaderboard!
