21st Cliona Callanan Memorial Event Report

The 21st Annual Clíona Callanan Memorial Orienteering Event was held on Sunday September 13th in the beautiful surroundings of Doneraile Park. 

The Callanan Family are very gratful to CorkO members and the orienteering community for your fantastic support and very generous donations to their fund. It was a lovely day for the Callanan family and a fitting tribute to Cliona.

Special tanks to the Sleeman Power, O'Leary Fitzpatrick and Lucey families, Cork Orienteering Club, Liam O'Brien (maps), Mary O'Brien (starts), O'Brien and Russell families (control collection), the OPW and staff of Doneraile Park and everyone else who supported the event in any way.

€2014 was raised at the event and when added to the online donations received to date brings the total to €5000. Online donations will remain open until September 23rd so you can still donate via the following link:

This year along with the usual benefactor the Cork Children's Leukaemia Association the event also fundraised for the Cork - North Gaza Solidarity who provide direct support on the ground by helping people in need to buy tents, food, water and medicine as well as helping the children in the Al Anqaa Tent School in Gaza City.
