Summer League #1 Currabinny Wood, Ringaskiddy Tuesday May 26th
We hope everyone enjoyed our Summer League prequel event in Tramore Valley Park last week and that you are all warmed up and ready to go for our first competitive event in the 2026 CorkO Summer League.
The first league event will take place on today TUESDAY MAY 26th at CURRABINNY WOOD, Ringaskiddy.
Currabiny Wood is located on a prominent hill on a peninsula overlooking Cork Harbour. The hillock slopes down to the sea on three sides. Legend has it that it's name commemorates a giant, Binne, whose burial chamber surmounts the hill ('Corra') to this day. This "Giant's grave" and an octagonal gazebo tea house are just two of the distinctive features on offer in this wood.
Just a reminder that you need to attend 6 events to receive a league finishers memento.....so why not get them in early!
Course Info
Short 2.2km 70m climb
Long 4.7km 200m climb
Short is buggy friendly. Full leg cover recommended for those doing long.

Start Times
Start anytime from 5pm to 6:45pm.
Parking
The wood is always popular with the locals in the area and the car park isn't huge so parking can be tight. We would encourage you to car pool if you can. When parking please adhere to the directions of our parking marshals and park on the left side of the road. Please don't block the entrance to the one house on the way in and give some consideration for others who may wish to enter/exit the wood while you are on your run.
Warning
In previous years the midge population made their presence known in Currabinny Wood. So if you have insect repellent it would be advisable to throw it into the car just in case they are back again this year.
Hope you can join us.
