Thanks to all who came to Glengarra last Sunday for the third round of this year's Munster League. A smallish turnout of 60 orienteers made the "trip to Tipp" and were very pleased with the nice surroundings of this sheltered forest. We were delighted to welcome a small band of Dublin based orienteers who combined a trip to the Ballyhoura's for mountain biking and our event over the St. Patricks weekend. Competition was keenest on the Blue & Green courses, Paul Keville of Setanta orienteers had just 1 minute to spare over Andrew Pim from WatO with a good run by Richard Latimer of BOC putting him in 3rd position ahead of former IOA chairman Dave Weston. On the Green course, CorkO's Niamh Corbett had less than a minute to spare over former Olympian Liam O'Brien with fellow clubmate Jim Callanan taking third slot a further 10 minutes behind. Brian Corbett took the honours on the 8.7km Brown course ahead of WatO's Gints Plaudis with Donal Murphy of BOC taking 3rd position.
Thanks to the Donal Burke & Danny O'Hare for helping on the day and huge thanks to Robert O'Connor for controlling and ensuring that all aspects of the event were up to scratch.
