Summer League #8: Moanbaun Wood, Watergrasshill TUESDAY JUNE 26TH Event Info

The eighth event in the CorkO Summer League will take place at Moanbaun Wood near Watergrasshill on Tuesday June 26th.

The landscape in Moanbaun Wood is mixture of semi-open forest, rough undergrowth, and open forest with a good road network, many earth walls and some streams. If the last few summer league events in this area are anything to go by there are sure to be plenty of midge in attendance on the night. So midge repellent could be useful to pack when travelling to Moanbaun Wood.

COURSE INFO

Short Course 3.1km,  9 controls buggy friendly (as all on road).  

Long Course 5.1km,  17 controls featuring long road runs followed by two sections of short more technical legs one in quarry area one in forest area.

DIRECTIONS

The wood is about 3km East of Watergrasshill. If travelling from Cork city, exit the M8 Dublin motorway at Watergrasshill (at junction 17, BEFORE the toll), use the bridge to cross over the

motorway, turn left, and after 500m take the right turn for Leamlara/Kartworld. Follow this road for 3.5km.

From Fermoy/Mitchelstown/Cahir, exit the M8 just after the toll, go straight through the roundabout and take the left after 100m (signposted Leamlara/Kartworld). Follow this road for 3.5km.

The event will be signed posted from Watergrasshill.
