Bansha, Co Tippeary Sunday April 7th
Our next orienteering event takes place in Bansha, Co Tipperary on Sunday April 7th.
The forest is extensive including two steep hills and a complex network of paths. Bansha is a working forest with a mix of deciduous and evergreen plantation where the limited runnable areas are interspersed with green areas allowing for challenging route choices.

4 courses are offered on the day
Blue, 7km, 290m climb, 16 controls
Light Green, 4.6km, 145m climb, 14 controls
Orange, 3.6km, 90m climb, 8 controls
Yellow 2.8km, 50m climb, 10 controls
No course is buggy friendly
The shorter courses stick to the forest roads and trails, but there are are some parts that are not suitable for buggies. The longer courses venture into the forest and the planner has made use of the most runnable areas. Leg cover is advisable.

Bansha wood is located (Google: 52.452185,-8.095940) roughly 3/4 ways along the N24 Cahir to Tipperary road and the wood entrance is located 2.5km north west of Bansha village, taking around 1 hour to reach from Cork. Travel time from Dublin circa 2 hours.
