RIP Fed Calnan

Rest In Peace Fred Calnan - a founding member of Cork Orienteering Club who passed away suddenly last Thursday March 6th at the great age of 98.

Fred along with his wife Pat and their family were stalwarts of the Cork Orienteering community assisting with the organising of numerous events in the 80’s and 90’s - from local events to Irish Championships and many of the Shamrock O-Ringens. 

 Their enthusiasm for the sport encouraged many beginners and families to commit to the fledgling sport of Orienteering at the time. 

Fred continued to orienteer and cycle right up to his early 90’s !
