The Crags Results and Report
All those who journeyed to Glenflesk last Sunday were rewarded with fabulous weather, beautiful views and fantastic technical terrain. The epic gully walk to the start took competitor to the historic townland of Coolcurtooga with it's spectacular hills which the Crags map incorporates. Check out the carousel below for some stunning pictures from the day.
Well done to all who took on the challenge. Full results are available here:

Huge thanks to Colm O'Halloran for planning and Brian Corbett and Rob McEvoy for helping with the event organising. Thanks also to all those who helped with control collection on the day.
We are incredibly grateful to the landowners - Mary O’Donoghue and her husband Sean for allowing us to use this area for Orienteering. They were also very generous with their time and told us all about the history of their lands at Coolcurtooga dating back 200 years. Generations have come and gone but little really has altered this rugged landscape. If you are interesting in finding out more about the history of this striking area and the stories these grounds have to tell then check out Mary O’Donoghue fascinating research into the history of the area her landwhich contains a number of pre-Famine house ruins.
She has published her research here:

and recorded a brief video with drone footage of the famine houses here:
